With the looming possibility that Pipeworks will not return to make this game, what do you think the new engine that will inevitably be made will be like? With it being on Wii, how do you think they'll pull it off?

That depends....
Pipeworks engine worked really nicely for me. What other style of Godzilla play can you use? I wouldn't want a "top-down" view, first person perspective is not my cup of tea. What we have left is a set-up perhaps similar to War of the Monsters or Peter Jackson's King Kong.
Would the city environments enclose around the players? Kind of like the jungle scenes in the Kong game? Would there still be land elevations and depressions? Would lighter weight flying kaiju be able to land on buildings in the foreground like what Rodan and Mothra have shown in the movies?

What if they make the Game like StreetFighter or Marval vs Capcom instead of the 3-d stuff. Oh and hey Tim.

What we have left is a set-up perhaps similar to War of the Monsters or Peter Jackson's King Kong. Problem is that those two games worked because of the size of their respective monsters, which wasn't much. The Toho monsters, even at Showa heights are significantly larger than they are, and in such circumstances I don't think it would really work. There's already a game like that. Its called "Godzilla Kaijuu Dai Kessen." And as for Godzilla 3 being a 2-D? No way. There are so many more options with 3-D play that I hardly think going 2-D would be a smart move.
